What is a Tier 5 Creative and Sporting visa?

The Tier 5 Creative and Sporting visa is for individuals who wish to work or perform as sports people, entertainers or creative artists in the UK. The Tier 5 Creative and Sporting visa is suitable for short term contracts or engagements and is suitable for sports people, coaches, dance artists, musicians, actors or presenters etc.

Tier 5 Creative and Sporting visa does not offer a route to settlement. Although, the category does makes provision for spouses, partners and any dependent children to immigrate to the UK at the same time as the main Tier 5 applicant.

Am I eligible for a Tier 5 Creative and Sporting visa as a Sports Person?

You are eligible to apply for a Tier 5 Creative and Sporting visa as a Sports Person if you satisfy the following criteria:

  • You must have a valid certificate of sponsorship;
  • You must have a confirmed offer of employment from a licensed UK employer (sponsor);
  • You must score 40 points under the points based system.

Am I eligible for a Tier 5 Creative and Sporting visa as a creative worker?

  • Make a unique contribution to the UK labour market, such as being internationally renowned or are required for continuity;
  • You must have a valid certificate of sponsorship;
  • Be paid the minimum salary as set by the relevant trade union;
  • The required savings for you and any dependants if your fully approved (A’ rated) sponsor is not certifying maintenance.

What will I need to show to apply for a Tier 5 Creative and Sporting visa?

As part of your application you will need to demonstrate:

  • You make a significant contribution to your sport at the highest level in the UK;
  • You must have a valid certificate of sponsorship;
  • The required savings for you and any dependants if your fully approved (A’ rated) sponsor is not certifying maintenance.

What you need to know about Tier 5 Creative and Sporting visas

Once your certificate of sponsorship is received, you can apply for entry clearance to the UK from your home country.
