Corporate & social responsibility
As employer solutions lawyers, we provide strategic consultancy and managed services that ensure that businesses and HR practices are both fully compliant with legal requirements and effective in meeting people-led business objectives.
Corporate & social responsibility
At DavidsonMorris we endeavour to manage our business in a way that makes a positive impact on our community, wider society and the environment, while reflecting our values of respect and integrity, teamwork, our ‘can-do’ attitude and passion to excel.
We adopt this approach to corporate & social responsibility (CSR) in our interactions with our people, our clients, our suppliers and the communities in which we operate.
We recognise our business activities inevitably have a direct impact on our clients, suppliers, and also on our communities. We also realise our business activities have negative impacts on the environment – energy use in our office, waste generation, use of non-renewable resources.
We are fully committed to reducing these impacts, and continually aim to improve our CSR performance.
We focus our support for activities in three key areas:
Working in our communities
We are involved in a number of charitable activities and are committed to continuing to support a wide range of charities as part of our CSR programme.
We also have a well-established Payroll Giving scheme for staff who wish to contribute financially to charity.
Working in our environment
DavidsonMorris takes account of the impact of our activities on the environment and the communities in which we operate. We comply with all applicable legal and other requirements, but are also committed to working towards the best practicable environmental options.
This includes aiming to maximise efficient use of materials, supplies and energy, preventing pollution, promoting environmental awareness, encouraging our clients, suppliers and contractors to be environmentally-aware, and, crucially, monitoring at management level our performance and progress in minimising the impact of our business on the environment.
Working with our people
Our relationships are central to our CR approach. This includes treating our clients in an open, honest and fair way, communicating our policies clearly to customers and suppliers and nurturing relationships with our employees, and to attract and retain the right people who will deliver excellence for our clients.
We offer a wide range of training and development opportunities and well-being support options to all employees, tailored to the individual.
We are committed to social and environmental responsibility and to the fair and humane treatment of people in its employment and in its supply chains. We are taking steps to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our own business or our supply chains.
