Who can apply for a sponsor licence?
Anne Morris looks at the types of organisations eligible to apply for a UK sponsorship licence.
“Every type of employer can apply for a sponsor licence, whether you have charitable status, are a limited company, PLC etc. But the organisation has to be lawfully trading in the UK in order to apply.
“We receive many enquiries from people who want to establish a business in the UK, but the business has to be already here and trading before you can go ahead with the sponsor licence application.
“It doesn’t matter if you employ two people or a thousand people. The Home Office will look at your business history to make sure you’re lawfully trading and that your business structure is in line with what you say it is.”
