Patrick Lewis looks at how to approach a revoked sponsor licence.

“In order to make a strong challenge to the decision, I think the most important thing to remember is that nearly everything is evidence-based. You’ve got to treat this very seriously.

“In a recent case on which I was instructed by DavidsonMorris, the way in which we responded to very serious allegations that were being made was by interviewing members of staff, preparing statements, collating documents, obtaining documents from other government agencies including Inland Revenue to be able to respond to the allegations that had been made.

“It was about approaching the challenge on as practical a basis as possible because it’s really a case of trying to produce as much evidence as one can that’s relevant to the allegation that’s been made as early as possible in order to try to reverse the decision at as early a stage as possible.”
