Tier 1 of the Points Based System is designed for exceptionally talented, highly skilled workers, investors and entrepreneurs wishing to work, set up a business or invest capital in the UK.

Tier 1 comprises the following 5 categories:

• Tier 1 (Entrepreneur)

• Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent)
• Tier 1 (Post Study Work)
• Tier 1 (General)

Tier 1 General

This category was closed to all Applicants on 7 April 2011 however those who are already in the UK under this category will be able to extend their stay to bring them up to 5 years, provided that all relevant requirements have been met.

The assessment for an extension will be based on Qualifications, Previous Earnings, Age and UK Experience. Applications for Indefinite Leave to Remain is now a Points Based Assessment, which is based on earnings for the 12 month period prior to the date of an application – please contact us for a detailed assessment of your eligibility.
