DavidsonMorris is a modern legal services provider that specialises in providing value and solutions-based guidance on immigration law.

As immigration legal advisers to the British Medical Association and NHS organisations across the UK, we advise healthcare employers and medical professionals on the full range of their immigration needs.

With the healthcare sector facing acute shortages of qualified medical staff across the board, nursing in particular is experiencing significant gaps between the supply and demand of trained professionals.

In response to this growing issue, qualified and experienced healthcare professionals are being recruited internationally to maintain NHS healthcare standards and ensure patient safety.

We work with NHS employers to advise on entry routes for overseas workers, including where exemptions under the Shortage Occupation List may apply.

We also support with guidance on meeting immigration compliance duties as part of the onboarding process and ongoing right to work checks. This includes areas of compliance risk such as List B management.

We also deliver training to NHS teams on immigration compliance and related HR matters.

We support NHS trusts and healthcare organisations to ensure their immigration processes are both effective and compliant.

Our healthcare immigration services include:

  • Applying for new or renewing PBS licences

We also deliver a regular programme of legal updates and webinars covering compliance training, mobility trends and relevant topics regarding visa and immigration for the NHS.

For individual medical professionals we advise on migration and settlement options, including eligibility for appropriate categories of visa.

We manage the entire application process on your behalf to avoid the risk of delays and loss fees resulting from application or procedural errors. We can also advise on entry and settlement options for dependants.

For BMA members we deliver advice and support specifically on applications for Tier 2 (General) visas for entry into the UK.
