Hello,
I am currently a dependant of a Tier2 ICT holder.
I have been working for a company for about an year now.
My company is now ready to sponsor my Tier 2 General. I have a few questions w.r.t. this.
1. Do I need to go back to my home country to apply?
2. Does my company have to do a resident labour market test though I am already working for them?
3. Do I need to show proof of my application to the job?
4. Can I still be employed with my company when I have gone back to my home country to apply?

Thanks,
Sindhu

Hi,
I came with visa tier 2 ict short term staff migrant which is valid from 09/05/11 till 08/05/12 from India. Would it be possible to extend the visa staying in UK. Came here by June 2011.

Is there any other way to extend my visa from UK.

Thanks,
Immanuel

Hi

It seems there is a change in policy related to switching to Tier 2 General from Tier 2 ICT.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/pbs/tier2-guidance.pdf
Refer page 4 OR
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/working/tier2/general/eligibility/#
Refer section - Can you switch into Tier 2 (General)?

Appreciate if you could confirm that from Oct 2011, it is possible to change the visa status from Tier 2 ICT to General and also change the employer.

Thanks

Hi,
I am an non-EU national (Indian) on tier-1 and my wife is on tier-1 dependant visa. We both are working. We were married in India and now our marriage is not working. I am due to get PR in few months and my wife is desperate to get PR. she is not interested in making family with me, just bothered about earning money and there have been heated arguments almost everyday. Please can you advise if its possible to get her dependant visa culled through legal procedure and get separated in UK itself. She has threatend me for DV law and etc. I fear from her and wants to get separate from her..

Regards

Hi

I entered the UK in Nov 2010 on a Tier 2 ICT Established Staff visa. What is the duration of extension I can receive? (As per my understanding for visas issued after April 2011, 5 years is the max period. Since my visa is earlier to this date, is it more than 5 years?)

Thank you
Shyam

Hi Rekha,

My husband and I are both applying for Tier 2 ICT from different companies.

At the time of submission of visa documents to consultate at interview- would it create any issues that both of us are travelling on ICT at the around same time?

Hear from you,
AXYZ

What is meant by Exceptional Talent?
Has anyone so far been granted visa under Tier 1 - Exceptional Talent?
I am an ACCA Student in UK, and I have been a very promising, determined and competent student.
Other than that, I have very good knowledge of IT (Information Technology) and I also did Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications from National Institute of Engineering, Mumbai and scored at least A grades in all my subjects.
I have scored above 70% (distinction) in my SSC and HSC in India, SSC is equivalent to UK's O Levels and HSC is equivalent to UK's A Levels.
By any chance, is there a way I can prove my talent and what do you think would be relevant body for me to prove my talent?

Thanks, awaiting information.

I came to UK as student dependent of my wife in 2006, in 2007 I go back India -switch to student, and from uk my wife switch back to student dependent, then after a year we got PSW visa which is getting expire in december 2012. now my wife employer is ready to sponsor her Tier 2, so question is that do i need to go to India with my wife so that she can switch to main applicant and i became dependent or
She can go alone and switch from PSW Dependent to Tier 2 main, and then when she return UK i apply to switch from PSW to Tier 2 dependent.

Hi Just need general guidance on a few a things.

I have been in UK since Dec 2007 on a work permit. My current work permit will expire in Sept 2013 (6 years), however I am looking to do an MBA from London Business School from August 2012 onwards. My admission offer is confirmed. The MBA will be for 18 months (i.e. from Aug 2012 – June 2014).

Now, I have few questions below –

Obviously I am on work permit. Would I be required to switch to student visa category when I begin my MBA
In aug 2012, I would only be 4 months short of 5 year work permit period. Is there a change I can get ILR because if I take student visa, then I will have to wait for a total 10 years for ILR, that is a big sacrifice when I am only 4 months short of ILR.

Can you advise as to what should I apply for in Aug 2012, when I have start my MBA.
