DavidsonMorris Blog

Welcome to our blog. Here we bring you up to the minute news and opinion from the world of immigration.

Where does the time go…..

Time stands still if you’re waiting for a decision on your application under Tier 2 (General), we are delighted to have received approvals for recent applications and to be able to provide our clients with their Biometric Residence Permits just in time for their summer holidays but it’s a frustrating wait – especially as UKBA today are only considering applications where the applicant attended a biometric appointment on or before 7 July 2012 with the proviso that some cases may take longer.

In the meantime, we thank our clients for their patience and we will contact you as soon as receive confirmation of a decision and the all-important BRP.

Time is also upon us with respect to the renewal of your Sponsor Licence.  If you have had your Licence for 4 years, you will or will shortly receive notice that you will soon be able to apply to renew your sponsor licence.

Where did those 4 years go?

You can apply to renew your sponsor licence 3 months before your licence expires and UKBA will send a further e-mail in one month’s time to confirm that you can make your application using the ‘Renew Licence’ option on your Sponsorship Management System (SMS) account. Once your sponsor licence has expired, whether as a result of declining to renew or failing to renew, migrants who are sponsored by you will have their leave curtailed.

If you want to continue as a sponsor, we strongly advise that you apply to renew your licence as soon as you are able and in any event at least one month before your licence expires.

Please let us know if we can assist you to submit a valid application – time flies and especially when there are 101 matters on your desk!
