UKBA continued to cause anxiety in the ranks this week as we battled our way through the appointment booking system in theUK. Why can’t we provide more appointment slots? Never mind, there’s no point going into detail again, we’re trying to move forward and “steady the ship” to quote Teresa May!
Happy to report that the majority of our applications submitted overseas are processed within the time schedules and our applications submitted via the priority service inNew York have been approved within 48 hours as promised.
One fly in the ointment however, an employee having checked the validity dates on his visa finds that he’s only been given permission to enter the UK for a month – not 2 years! A simple error made by a busy Entry Clearance Officer but which causes so many problems. The employee now has to return the passport to be corrected and in the meantime has to re-arrange his work schedule/flights etc. Top marks go to our client for checking his documents!
One other thing, just a reminder to any of our migrant workers who has welcomed the patter of tiny feet this year and expecting to visit the family at Christmas – have you obtained your child’s passport and more importantly acquired their dependant’s visa?
Better act fast…. UKBA may not!
